A Eureka man and woman were injured late Wednesday afternoon (May 26) in a two-car accident at highways 61 and B in Lincoln County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 4:05 p.m., Dennis C. Feilner, 84, of Eureka was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Impala west on Hwy. B and failed to yield to a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta headed north on Hwy. 61, and the front of the Jetta struck the driver side of the Impala, the report said.

Jeremy L. Baker, 30, of Louisiana, Mo., was driving the Jetta. No injures were reported for him.

However, Feilner was moderately injured, and a passenger in the Impala – Patricia A. Feilner, 81, of Eureka – was seriously injured, and both were transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Dennis Feilner was taken by ambulance and Patricia Feilner was taken by helicopter, according to the report.

The Feilners and Baker were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Jetta was totaled, and the Impala was extensively damaged, the report said.
