A Fenton 16-year-old was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 23, when he was riding a bicycle on Hunning Road east of Cinphany Court in High Ridge and was struck by a van, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
The accident occurred at 3:35 p.m., when the teenager was riding the bike and crossed the center of the road where it was struck by an eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Express driven east by Pamela A. Keune, 57, of Fenton, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Keune.
The teen was taken by North Jefferson County Ambulance to St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
It is unknown if the teen was wearing a helmet, and Keune was wearing a seat belt,, the report said.
The van sustained minor damage, the report said.
The patrol did not release the 16-year-old’s name because he is a juvenile.
