Austin E. Martinez, 19, of Dittmer was seriously hurt Thursday afternoon (Feb. 22) in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. EE at Susan Lane in Morse Mill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 1:25 p.m., Martinez was driving an eastbound 1999 Jeep Cherokee, and he failed to negotiate a curve to the left, and the Jeep ran off the right side of the road, where it struck a fence and a tree, the report said.
He was taken by Big River Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County.
Martinez was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Jeep was totaled, the report said.
