Benjamin D. Morris, 33, of Dittmer was hurt Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 1) in a one-car accident on Hwy. 21 south of Schenk Road in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 2:50 p.m., Morris was driving a 1999 Honda Accord north on Hwy. 21, and the car ran off the left side of the road, into the grassy median, down a rocky embankment between north and southbound bridges over Klable Road, striking several rocks and then overturning, the report said.
He was seriously hurt and taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said today (Jan. 2).
Morris was wearing a seatbelt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
