A 50-year-old Dittmer man was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated on Thursday, Feb. 1, on Hwy. 30 east of Gravois Road in northwestern Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:44 a.m., the man was driving an eastbound 2015 Jeep Compass and ran off the left side of the road and struck a sign and an embankment, the report said.
The Dittmer man was seriously injured and taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.
However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokesman said.
The man was wearing a seat belt and the Jeep had minor damage, the report said.
According to the report, the man was arrested at 3:40 a.m. at the hospital.
The man’s name will not be published unless charges are filed against him, and as of this morning, Feb. 3, none had been filed.
