A De Soto woman and a De Soto teen were hurt in a one-vehicle accident Thursday evening (April 16) on Selma Road east of Oakvale Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 5:25 p.m., Amber M. Norton, 37, of De Soto was headed west in a 2004 Jeep Liberty and failed to negotiate a curve and then the Jeep ran off the road and overturned, the report said.
She was seriously hurt, and a passenger in the Jeep, Ethan W. Norton, 15, of De Soto, sustained minor injuries. Amber was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, and Ethan was transported there by private conveyance, according to the report.
Both Amber and Ethan were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The Jeep was extensively damaged, the report said.
