Emma L. Whitehead, 25, of De Soto was seriously hurt Thursday night (Nov. 12) in a one-vehicle accident on Flucom Road east of Tracy Lane south of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:18 p.m., Whitehead was driving a 2008 Chevrolet HHR west on Flucom Road, failed to negotiate a curve to the right and then overcorrected before the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.
She was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where she was listed in serious condition this afternoon (Nov. 13), a hospital spokeswoman said.
Whitehead was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The vehicle was totaled, the report said.
