Beverly J. Rath, 55, of De Soto was hurt Monday afternoon (April 9) in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 south of Buck Creek Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 2:50 p.m., Rath was driving a 2017 Toyota 4Runner south on Hwy. 67 and the SUV ran off the right side of the highway, so she applied the brakes. However, the vehicle began to skid, and she overcorrected, causing the SUV to return to the highway, where it struck a median wall, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Rath was transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said on Tuesday.
Rath was not wearing a seat, according to the report.
The Toyota 4Runner was extensively damaged, the Patrol said.
