Isaiah L. Pierce, 16, of De Soto was hurt in a one-car accident Saturday morning (Sept. 23) on Hwy. 67 north of St. Francois State Park in St. Francois County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 8:04 a.m., Pierce was driving a 2007 Chevrolet HHR south on Hwy. 67 and the car ran off the left side of the road before he overcorrected, causing the car to skid and again run off the left side of the highway where it struck a median cable barrier and overturned, the report said.
Pierce was moderately hurt and taken by St. Francois County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The car was totaled, the report said.
