Andrew J. Katz, 38, of De Soto died Monday evening (Dec. 6) after he was struck by a car while standing in the northbound lane on Hwy. TT near I-55 south of Festus. He was standing near a motorcycle stopped in the northbound lane with no rider on it, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At about 7:15 p.m., Mariah N. McWilliams, 18, of Festus was driving a 2014 Kia Sorento north on Hwy. TT and struck Katz and the rear of the 1985 Yamaha XV1000 motorcycle stopped in the lane, the report said.
Katz was pronounced dead at the scene, at 7:39 p.m., according to the report.
No injuries were reported for McWilliams.
She was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The motorcycle was totaled, and the Sorento was moderately damaged, the report said.
