Randy M. Osia, 55, of De Soto was seriously hurt Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. P north of Argonne Road near Victoria and west of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3 p.m., Osia was driving a 2006 Hummer H3 south on Hwy. P and fell asleep before the vehicle ran off the right side of the highway and struck several trees, the report said.
He was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Osia was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The vehicle was totaled, the report said.
