Robert G. Smith, 60, of De Soto was hurt Monday afternoon (June 13) when he wrecked the pickup he was driving on Hwy. V north of Brittany Lane in Valles Mines, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 3:42 p.m., Smith was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado south on Hwy. V, and the pickup ran off the right side of the road before he overcorrected and the pickup crossed the center line and then ran off the left side of the road, where it struck a tree, the report said.
Smith sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said today (June 14).
He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The pickup was extensively damaged, the report said.
