A 56-year-old De Soto man was arrested Friday night, May 17, for suspicion of driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident on Hwy. E north of Cedar Tree Lane south of De Soto, which left him injured, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:30 p.m., the man was driving a 2023 Jeep Compass south on the highway and lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the road and overturned, the report said.

He was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

The man was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The Jeep was totaled, the report said.

The highway patrol arrested the man for DWI at 11:17 p.m. at the hospital, the report said.

His name will not be published unless charges are filed against him in the case, and as of Saturday afternoon, May 18, none had been filed.
