Dennis B. Garrett, 52, of De Soto was hurt late Thursday afternoon (Dec. 17) in a two-vehicle accident on I-55 at the Meramec River Bridge in south St. Louis County just north of Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4:35 p.m., Garrett was driving a 2004 Ford F250 south on the interstate, lost control of the pickup, which began to skid, and the front of the truck struck the left side of a southbound 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, the report said.
Kelly A. Keil, 38, of St. Louis was driving the Traverse. No injuries were reported for her.
Garrett was moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Garrett was not wearing a seat belt, and Keil was wearing one, the patrol reported.
The pickup had minor damage, and the Traverse was moderately damaged, the report said.
