A De Soto man and a Farmington woman were hurt in a two-vehicle accident that happened at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday (May 12) on Hwy. V just south of Berry Dairy Road in the De Soto area, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

Wyatt E. Davis, 16, of De Soto was driving a 2008 Ford Focus north on Hwy. V and lost control of the car, which crossed the center line and struck a southbound SUV head on, the report said.

Marla K. Sproat, 40, of Farmington was driving the SUV, a 2012 Dodge Journey.

Sproat sustained moderate injuries, and a passenger in the Focus, Tyler A. Smith, 18, of De Soto, sustained minor injuries, according to the report.

Both Sproat and Smith were taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

Everyone involved in the accident was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

Both the Focus and Journey were totaled, the report said.
