A 29-year-old De Soto man was arrested following a crash between De Soto and Bonne Terre for allegedly driving while intoxicated Wednesday night, April 24, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 9:06 p.m., the man was driving west on Sunrise School Road in a 2007 GMC Sierra and traveled into the path of a 2002 GMC Sierra driven north on Hwy. E by Stephon L. Seidl, 63, of De Soto, striking the right side of the 2002 GMC, causing both vehicles to travel off the road and the 2002 GMC to overturn, the report said.
The 29-year-old had minor injuries and was taken by Patrol personnel to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, arrested at 9:44 p.m., and held at Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro until his release, the report said.
According to the report, Seidl was seriously injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
As of Thursday morning, April 25, Seidl was in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The vehicles were totaled, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.
