A 14-year-old De Soto boy was injured Friday afternoon, April 14, in a motorcycle accident on Big River Heights Road near West Cliff Road southwest of De Soto near Washington State Park, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3:50 p.m., the boy was riding an eastbound 2012 Yamaha YZ125 and struck an animal, causing the dirt bike to overturn, the report said.
He was moderately injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur.
The boy was wearing a helmet, the patrol reported.
The bike sustained minor damage, the report said.
The highway patrol did not release the boy’s name because he is a juvenile.
