Jacob L. Coffee, 39, of Crystal City was hurt in a two-vehicle accident that happened at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 11) on Hwy. Z at Hwy. A in the Mapaville area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Coffee was driving a 2004 Mazda Tribute east on Hwy. Z and traveled into the westbound lanes, where the left side of the SUV struck the left side of a westbound van, the report said.
Margaret A. Orlando, 64, of Festus was driving the van, a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. No injuries were reported for her.
Coffee was taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in St. Louis County.
Coffee and Orlando were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles sustained minor damage, the report said.
