A Cedar Hill woman was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after she was seriously injured in a single-car accident Monday evening (Sept. 2) on I-270 in Des Peres in west St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the 32-year-old woman was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer south on I-270 at Dougherty Ferry Road at 10 p.m. when she drove off the right side of the road and ran into a concrete sewer cover. The car then overturned and the woman was thrown out of the car, the report said.
The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained serious injuries and was taken by Des Peres Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, the report said.
The hospital had no information on her condition.
The woman will not be named unless she is charged with a crime by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The Mitsubishi was totaled, the report said.
