Deryl L. Lill, 72, of Cedar Hill was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 12) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 30 at Cedar Hill Road in Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:30 p.m., Lill was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee south on Cedar Hill Road, crossing Hwy. 30, and he reportedly pulled into the path of a 2015 Jeep Latitude headed east on the highway, and the Latitude struck the right side of the Cherokee. After the collision, the Cherokee ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree, the report said.
Laayna J. Scawizynski, 18, of High Ridge was driving the Latitude. No injuries were reported for her.
Lill was taken by helicopter to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where he was listed in serious condition today (Jan. 14), a hospital spokeswoman said.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and Scawizynski was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
