A Bonne Terre woman and man were injured Monday afternoon (Aug. 24) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 at Meyer Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 2:53 p.m., a 16-year-old male from Festus was driving a southbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee and allegedly failed to keep a proper lookout and ran into the rear of a southbound 2000 Buick Century that was stopped ahead at a red light, the patrol reported.

Marilynn S. Holdman, 76, of Bonne Terre was driving the Century. She and a passenger – Artie G. Holdman, 79, of Bonne Terre – were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

No injuries were reported for the juvenile.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Jeep was totaled, and the Century was moderately damaged, the report said.
