A Bonne Terre teen was seriously injured Tuesday evening, Nov. 7, in a one-car accident on Hardin Road north of Hwy. E between De Soto and Bonne Terre in Jefferson County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 7:24 p.m., Ali C. Vuylsteke, 18, of Bonne Terre allegedly was driving a southbound 2008 Saturn Astra too fast for conditions and slid off the left side of the road, where the car struck a mailbox and several trees, the report said.
She was seriously injured and taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County where she was listed in satisfactory condition this afternoon, Nov. 8, a hospital spokesman said.
According to the report, Vuylsteke was not wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle was totaled.
