Shawn M. Myers, 26, of Bonne Terre was killed this afternoon (July 18) in a one-car accident on the southbound I-55 exit ramp to Hwy. 67 south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
At 1:20 p.m., Myers was driving a 1997 Honda Prelude south on I-55 and while making a right turn onto Hwy. 67, the car began to skid and ran off the right side of the road, where it struck a rock embankment before returning to the road, roof-side down, the report said.
Myers, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report.
The car was totaled, the patrol reported.
