A Barnhart woman was killed and the teenage driver was hurt in a one-vehicle accident Sunday night (April 26) on Hwy. M west of St. Luke’s Church Road in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 10:08 p.m., Devan W. Crossno, 17, of Barnhart was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer east on Hwy. M where the SUV ran off the left side of the road but then re-entered the roadway before the driver overcorrected and the SUV ran off the left side of the road again, where it overturned and ejected the passenger – Tina M. Crossno, 46.

She was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. by Rock Township Ambulance personnel.

Devan Crossno sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was listed in satisfactory condition today (April 27), a hospital spokesman said.

He was wearing a seat belt, but Tina Crossno was not wearing one, the patrol reported.
