Two Jefferson County men were injured, one of them seriously, in a one-car accident on Tuesday (June 1) at 3 Rivers and Hillsboro roads east of Desloge in Ste. Genevieve County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 1:30 a.m., James S. Cochran, 51, of Barnhart was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu west on 3 Rivers Road and lost control of the car, which crossed Hillsboro Road and struck a ditch, the report said.

Cochran sustained minor injuries, and a passenger in the car – Jeffrey S. Henson, 47, of De Soto – was seriously injured. Both were taken by ambulance to Parkland Health Center in Farmington, according to the report.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The car was moderately damaged, the report said.
