An Arnold woman and a Bonne Terre man were hurt this morning (June 10) in a two-vehicle accident on I-55 north of Meramec Bottom Road north of Arnold in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 5:20 a.m., Denise Sandusky, 61, of Arnold was driving a 2018 Honda Civic north on the interstate and traveled from Lane 4 into Lane 3, where the left rear side of the car struck the right front of a large truck, which was headed north in Lane 3 and driven by Michael Runyon, 50, of Bonne Terre, the report said.

Then, the car began skidding in front of the large truck, a 2015 Western Star, and the front of the truck struck the left side of the car, which then ran off the left side of the road and struck a median barrier, according to the report.

Sandusky was moderately injured and Runyon had minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

Both were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The car was extensively damaged, and truck had minor damage, the report said.
