An Arnold man and a St. Louis woman and man were injured Monday afternoon (Feb. 22) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 at Meyer Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 1:05 p.m. Denny A. Write, 45, of Arnold was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse north on the highway and allegedly failed to stop at a red light, and the front of the SUV struck the side of a 2019 Ford Transit cargo van that had been headed east on Meyer Road and stopped at the light before proceeding through the intersection when it turned green, the report said.

Crishonda P. Chatman, 22, of St. Louis was driving the van. Write, Chatman and a passenger in the van – Ryan K. Cooper, 32, of St. Louis – were all moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City, according to the report.

Chatman was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

However, the hospital had no information about Write and Cooper, the spokesman said.

Chatman and Cooper were wearing seat belts, and Write was not wearing one, the patrol reported.

The SUV was extensively damaged, and the van was moderately damaged, the report said.
