traffic accident 3

An Arnold man and a Potosi teenager were injured Saturday afternoon (Oct. 10) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 67 south of Meyer Road south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 3:20 p.m., Brian J. Pitzer, 38, of Arnold was driving a 2018 Ford F150 north on the highway and slowed for a red light ahead at Meyer Road, and a Springfield 16-year-old male who was driving a northbound 1997 Ford F150 failed to observe the pickup stopping ahead, and the front of the 1997 pickup struck the rear end of the 2018 pickup, the report said.

No injuries were reported for the Springfield teen; however, Pitzer and a Potosi 16-year-old male who was a passenger in the 1997 pickup were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.

All those involved in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

Both pickups were extensively damaged, the report said.

The highway patrol did not release the names of the two 16-year-olds because they are juveniles.
