Stella Wolf, 66, of Arnold took this picture in 1996 in Arnold City Park of her family’s C4 Corvettes. Stella drove the white Corvette; her husband, Dave Wolf, 63, drove the blue Corvette; and their daughter, Brandy, drove the red Corvette. “We decided to drive the red, white and blue cars for a photoshoot on the opening day of the Arnold Days parade,” Stella said. “To date, we have owned a total of eight Corvettes of various years, including one not pictured that we purchased brand new off the showroom floor that I just had to have – a bright yellow Corvette! As a teenager, every car I ever owned from the day I turned 15 were all fast muscle cars. The fastest I have ever driven the brand-new yellow Corvette was 210 mph. Insurance was a hefty cost and thank god I never got any tickets. Now I drive very slow and cautiously due to having multiple no-fault car accidents in the past few years due to inattentive drivers in Arnold.”
Kathy Bartnett, 66, of Fenton sent a picture from May of herself with her 1964 Impala SS. “My husband and his friend drove his truck and trailer to Tolar, Texas to buy the Impala for my birthday this year, which was in January,” Kathy said. “I've always wanted a 64 Impala. I had a 2001 Impala, 2009 Impala and a 2014 Impala and all have been a burgundy color, and this one is red. I named her the ‘Red Rose of Texas.'” Kathy was at the Memories Car Club car show’s ladies’ night at Faith Church in Sunset Hills. “The ladies had to drive their vehicles in and park them, and then we were eligible for special attendance prizes. I won the watermelon basket!”
Sherrie Marion, 70, of House Springs sent a picture from June 2018 of herself and her husband, Dave Marion. “On our honeymoon, my groom surprised me with a trail ride along the coast in Bodega Bay, Calif.” Sherrie said. “The absolute best moment of my life was coming atop a sand dune to the view and sound of the ocean. Definitely my best ride ever.”

The vehicle is a 1949 Chevrolet Suburban he found in 1999 in a car trader magazine. “It’s great because I can haul my luggage, canopy, lawn chairs and all of the junk my wife, Betty, buys,” Bob said. “We’ve been to shows in seven different states. It runs great down the highway, and it’s tons of fun to drive. We are in a club called Memories. We’ve made a lot of memories and good friends in the ’burb.”
Tom VanDyke, 73, of De Soto sent a picture taken at the De Soto Christmas Parade in 2016. Greg Brunsmann, 72, of House Springs sent a picture taken in 1980 at Lone Elk Park of his 1965 Ford Mustang GT his father, Floyd, bought. “When the Mustang came out, all I could think about was that I wanted one so bad,” Greg said. “I wanted to pay my dad back, so I sold snow cones out of a wagon around Crestwood, cut lawns, repaired lawn mowers and worked at Steak ’n’ Shake. I finally paid my dad back, and to this day I still have my Mustang.”
Bernard Laiben, 58, of Festus sent a picture his sister, Tish Green, took in 2008 of Bernard and his nephew, Levi Green. The pair are next to his 1951 Chevrolet pickup with a 3100 deluxe five-window cab, original 216 engine and 86,000 original miles. “My great-grandpa Barney Cleveland Statler bought the truck brand new from a lot in Sedgewickville,” Bernard said. “My dad, Barney, bought it from great-grandma Statler in 1982, and I drove it to Festus High School for three years until graduating in 1986.” Bernard has taken it to many car shows, including the one in the photo at Festus McDonalds. “(Levi) was almost 2 years old and is now 19. If Levi plays his cards right, he will inherit the truck from his Uncle B! The truck has spent its 75-year life in the same family and has never been more than 50 miles away from home.”
