3 Granny Smith apples

2 cans crescent rolls

1 stick margarine to grease pan

1 stick unsalted butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 can (12 ounce) Mountain Dew

Cinnamon sugar to taste

Vanilla ice cream for serving

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-by-10 baking dish with margarine; set aside.

Peel apples; core and cut each apple into 6 wedges. Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll, beginning with wide end of triangle and ending at the point. Place each roll in the greased baking dish, seam side down. Repeat with the remaining pieces of crescent roll dough. You will have two wedges left over. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the sugar and stir until butter melts (sugar does not have to melt completely). Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour butter mixture over rolls in pan; pour Mountain Dew over that. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
