Yadi Bear, a 5-year-old Perkngese, gets along well with the Blackford family's two other dogs.

Josie Blackford of Hillsboro said her Pekingese, Yadi Bear, always looks out for her.

“Yadi comes if I say, ‘shower’ and will guard the tub or shower for me no matter how hot or steamy it may get,” she said. “He is the heartbeat at my feet.”

Yadi Bear, 5, is active.

“He’s so feisty,” she said. “He’s all over the place.”

He’s also playful in a fearsome sort of way, she said.

“He’s so amenable,” Blackford said. “He loves his toys. He wants to attack them. He shakes them as hard as he can.”

Yadi Bear gets along with the family’s other two dogs, Blackford said.

“We have a huge Lab, Caesar, that weighs about 100 pounds more than Yadi,” she said. “They’re best buddies. Our other dog is Radar Luv, Yadi’s brother. All the dogs get along. Our whole family enjoys the dogs.”
