Pet Spot: Owner says Thumper the cat needs to stay active

Doug Williams of Byrnes Mill submitted a photo of his cat, Thumper, for Pet Spot.

Doug Williams of Byrnes Mill said he does his best to keep Thumper, his 3-year-old shorthair cat, busy and out of trouble.

“He’s kind of a crazy cat,” Williams said. “He gets bored very easily. He’s active. He’s a handful.”

Because of this, Williams has purchased many items for Thumper’s amusement.

“The whole living room is full of his toys,” he said. “He loves battery-operated toys that move. He chases them around the house.

“He’s got a lot of scratching posts and a cat tree.”

He said he likes having Thumper around.

“This is the first shorthair cat we have had,” Willliams said. “We lost both our longhair cats in the last three years and Thumper has been a great addition. He’s a good companion.”
