Sunny, who recently died at age 14, was a bright spot to all who knew her, said owner Sandra Kost of Hillsboro. Kost submitted this photo of the dog from earlier this year.
“I had just gotten this ducky toy for Sunny, and she loved it so much she wouldn’t let go of it,” Kost said. “That evening, she hopped up on the sofa with it. She loved it.”
A Labrador-akita-golden retriever mix, Sunny, had a great personality, she said. Sunny weighed 86 pounds.
“She was the best ever,” Kost said. “She was super easy to care for. She was just the easiest-going dog. She loved everybody – except with food. She just really loved food.”
Sunny could be noisy, Kost said.
“She would howl and bark like huskies do,” she said. “
