Pet Spot: Snickers enjoys sitting in weeds, hunting bugs

Julie Sagehorn of De Soto submitted a photo of her cat, Snickers, for Pet Spot. The Leader urges readers to email a photo of their pet, along with a phone number, to news@leaderpublications.biz.

Julie Sagehorn said this photo of her 3-year-old Calico cat, Snickers, shows her in a typical spot in the family’s De Soto yard.

“My husband doesn’t weed that part of our yard,” Sagehorn said. “She likes to hide in the weeds on the side of the patio and find bugs. She likes to play with them most of the time. She was playing with a daddy longlegs yesterday.”

Snickers shares the house with two dogs.

“I have a Great Dane, Zelda, and a pitbull-boxer mix, Link,” Sagehorn said. “They all do well together. Zelda is 110 pounds and Link is 47 pounds. They just play well together.”

She said Snickers will warm up to people after a bit of time.

“It can take a little while before she gets used to you,” Sagehorn said. “But, Snickers is very outgoing.”

PET SPOT invites readers to tell a story about their pets or nonprofit animal adoption agencies to write about an adoptable pet and submit it, plus an attached photo, to news@leaderpublications.biz. Please include a phone number and city of residence for submissions from individuals and contact information for organizations.
