Patty Smallegen of Festus submitted this photo of her grandson, Rhett Smallegen, and his family’s goldendoodle, Pete.
Rhett is 4 and Pete is 2 ½ and both live in Festus.
“Pete is very good buddies with Rhett and his sister, Gracie, who is 9 months old,” Patty Smallegen said. “He loves people, loves to snuggle.”
She said Rhett came up with Pete’s name.
“He is named after my grandson’s favorite Mickey Mouse character, Pete,” Smallegen said.
Pete is an amiable pet, she said.
“Pete is very happy, excited and fun-loving,” Smallegen said. “He is a smiley dog. Anytime company comes over, he will stand out in the driveway to greet them.”
