This photo submitted by Tim Dugan of Dittmer appears to show his dog, Shadow, ready to dig into a jar of pickles, but that is not the case.
He said Shadow, a female estimated to be 4 years old, is a German shepherd rescue dog.
“It was taken in an RV in Fort Myers, Fla.,” Dugan said. “She’s sitting at the table. She thought it was her place.”
Shadow has an affable personality, he said.
“She gets along with just about anybody,” Dugan said. “She gets along with the grandkids and with most dogs, too.”
He said Shadow has a favorite toy.
“She’s got a ball she likes to play with after dinner for about a half hour,” he said.
