Jill Jonas of Eureka said she loves this photo she took of Maggy, a Catahoula leopard-hound dog mix, who she describes as low-key.
“She’s just the mellowest dog I think I’ve ever had,” Jonas said. “She’s very sweet.”
Jonas took the photo in 2022, on the dog’s fourth birthday. Maggy is now 8 years old.
Jonas said Maggy was waiting for her son, Wyatt, to get home, and the two have a special friendship.
“(The photo) depicts their special bond,” she said.
Jonas said Maggy is an intelligent pet.
“She’s very smart,” she said. “She knows lots of tricks. When she lays down, you can tell her to cross her legs like a lady, and she will. I also can have her wave bye-bye.”
Maggy is pleasant to all.
“She gets along with people and other pets,” Jonas said.
