Jenny Goben of Cedar Hill says her tabby cat, Lil' bit, is a great companion.

Jenny Goben of Cedar Hill says her tabby cat, Lil’ bit, helps her get through rough times, including an especially trying year in 2019.

“I had an amputation, my right arm,” she said. “He would stay with me all day, even when we slept.

“When I am depressed and cannot get out of bed, he is always there right with me. He will not even eat his breakfast until I get up with him.”

Goben estimates Lil’ bit is 9 years old.

“I found him when he was a kitten and he had watery eyes and a runny nose and was struggling to breathe,” she said. “I took him to a vet and brought him home all better and, now, well, let’s just say he’s paid me back tenfold.”

Lil’ bit loves her back.

“He’s really skittish, doesn’t like other people coming into the house,” Goben said. “He’ll run into the bedroom. He’s pretty much my cat. I love this boy.”
