Lori Pyatt of Arnold sent in a photo of Lewis, a Great Pyrenees.

Lori Pyatt of Arnold said her dog, Lewis, a Great Pyrenees, has grown to about 100 pounds since this photo was taken in 2017, when he was a puppy.

Here is Lewis, a Great Pyrenees, at 8 weeks old in June 2017, curling up for a nap with some work boots at Lori Pyatt’s Arnold home.

“He was just so tiny and played out,” she said. “He was looking for a place to rest. He’s all white, beautiful. He’s now about 100 pounds. He was probably 8 pounds in the picture.”

Lewis, now almost 2, keeps an eye out for trouble from the family’s yard.

“He’s quite the protector,” Pyatt said. “Pyrenees dogs watch livestock. He patrols our yard.”

Lewis is an intelligent, active pet, she added.

“He’s extremely smart,” Pyatt said. “He remembers things. He can be pretty stubborn, but he’s a fun-loving dog. He’s friendly and sweet. He loves to play catch. He loves squeaky toys. He’s part of our family.”

Pyatt said her family lost a pet at the end of last year and Lewis took it hard.

“We had a Maltese named Harry – he died in December,” she said. “Lewis misses him.”
