Catherine Shanks of De Soto submitted this photo from December 2022 of Gus, her pug who is now about 5 years old. She said her children gave Gus to her for Christmas.
“I would describe him as a crabby old man,” she said. “He doesn’t like other dogs. He doesn’t like kids. He just likes adults.”
Gus has a couple of favorite activities, she said.
“He likes to be petted,” Shanks said. “He loves to play with toys.”
She said Gus brightens her days.
“He’s cute,” she said. “He is the light of my life.”
She added that Gus “is spoiled rotten.”
