I captured this sweet moment with Freckles, our 4-year-old miniature long-haired dachshund, in March. Freckles loved to cuddle with our granddaughter Meghan’s stuffed bunny, Mimi. Here, Freckles is on our daughter’s bed with a fluffy blanket and Mimi.
Freckles was just adorable. She had the sweetest personality. Our grandkids would dress her up. She’d let them do anything. She was just as sweet as she could be. She got along with our other pets. She was just a lover.
Freckles had a congenital condition that resulted in a broken back, and she died a short time after the photo was taken.
We enjoyed her. The kids would carry her around all the time.
