Daisy at the Leader Pet Expo

Leader reporter Kevin Carbery of Festus shared this photo of his dog, Daisy, enjoying peanut butter at the Leader Pet Expo.

This is Daisy, a 7-month-old beagle-pointer mix, at the Leader Pet Expo, held Sunday (May 5) at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Hillsboro. In this photo, she is enjoying a spoonful of peanut butter at the Jefferson College Veterinary Technology program booth.

Daisy is the newest addition to the Carbery family in Festus. Leader reporter Kevin Carbery got her about a month ago from the Humane Society of Missouri.

Daisy and Carbery’s daughters, Holly and Heidi, had fun at the Pet Expo. Daisy especially enjoyed playing games, eating treats, meeting new furry and human friends, and getting multiple belly rubs at the event, Holly and Heidi reported.

“She got along with all the other dogs, but was afraid of the miniature horses,” Holly said.

“She got scared when they neighed,” Heidi added. “But, she liked the alpacas.”
