Coal the cat enjoys curling up in a load of laundry right after it comes out of they dryer, his owner Nora Tary of Arnold says.

This photo was taken Jan. 12, when Coal the cat was in his favorite place – a laundry basket in Nora Tary’s Arnold home.

He enjoys cozy spots, Tary said.

“He loves to get in my laundry basket and roll around, especially when the laundry’s warm out of the dryer,” Tary said. “He sleeps in an Eckert’s box, a peach box.”

Coal is about 1 1/2 years old. He is one of Tary’s five pets, which includes three dogs and two cats.

“I think he’s a Russian blue and a Maine coon mix,” she said.

She picked Coal out of a litter.

“A friend of mine’s cat had a litter of five and Coal was the only male,” she said. “He’s very lovable.”

She said Coal is an active cat and displays human characteristics.

“He is so happy,” Tary said. “He’s always all over the place. He’s very energetic. He is also very compassionate. He knows when I’m upset. He’s a sweetheart.”
