This picture of Dexter and Diego when they were 8 weeks old was taken in May 2014 in our home. The dogs are inseparable and until just recently, they always slept in the same bed. They go outside and stick together like glue.
We understand that Dexter and Diego are Chihuahua mix puppies and are brothers. Even though they are from the same litter, they look so different!
Dexter appears to have a dachshund body, long with powerful, short legs, while Diego is smaller with white-speckled feet. Diego looks to have beagle in him. Dexter, the bigger of the two, is also the bigger baby. Diego will protect Dexter at any cost and is the more outgoing of the two.
We got Dexter and Diego as rescues from my daughter, Christina. She volunteers at various shelters and also transports dogs and cats to no-kill shelters around the state. She just thought they would be a good fit for us and brought them home.
We had two Chihuahuas previously and lost our last little guy, who was named Cheech, in April 2013.
Dexter and Diego are a handful, but we love them!
