This is Brody on top of a stump in September 1997 at Joanne Middleton’s former home in House Springs. She now lives in Arnold.
“My husband cut down a tree and Brody got on the stump,” Middleton recalled. “This was our back yard.”
The shot was taking during one of the few times Brody, a black Labrador, was not in motion, she said.
“He had a great personality and went everywhere with us – hiking, canoeing, camping,” Middleton said. “He went trick-or-treating with neighbor kids.”
She said her family is fond of Labs.
“Labradors are just great,” she said. “They love you, learn new things every day. Loyal.”
Brody was 5 when the photo was taken and, sadly, he only lived one more year.
“He died at 6, hit by a car,” Middleton said. “I miss him.”
