Benson, a 5-month-old Australian shepherd, lives with a family that includes three kids, but mom, Leslee Brown, is his favorite.
“He’s a momma’s boy,” said Brown of Imperial. “He’s always at my side. He literally follows me around.”
Although Benson often tails “Mom,” he also likes to hang out with the youngsters, Brown said.
“He plays with them and the neighborhood kids,” she said. “He likes to play with the Frisbee, go catch the Frisbee. He likes to play soccer with his big brother, my 16-year-old son, Colin.”
Unlike the rest of the family, Benson didn’t seem to mind the stay-at-home directives that had been in place because of the pandemic, Brown said.
“Benson has enjoyed having everyone at home,” she said.
Brown said her family is fond of the breed.
“This is our third Australian shepherd,” she said. “They’re just very, very sweet, family dogs.”
