Amanda Crowley's dog, Kojak

Amanda Crowley of Arnold sent in this photo of her family's dog, Kojak, a Colombian fino hound.

Amanda Crowley of Arnold said her family’s dog, Kojak, a Colombian fino hound, livens up their home.

“He’s 4 months old, loves to cuddle and chase toys,” she said. “When fully grown, he will be close to 80 pounds.”

She said Kojak’s breed is unusual.

“The breed of Colombian fino hound is not recognized by the American Kennel Club,” Crowley said. “The breed’s main purpose is to hunt pheasants and small rodents.”

Kojak is buddies with the family’s other pet, she said.

“He has a bigger dog brother to play with, Moose, who is 5. He’s a black coonhound. They’re inseparable.”

Kojak’s name comes from the old TV crime show.

“My husband is in law enforcement and he loves old detective shows,” Crowley said.

Kojak is a good fit for the family, she said.

“He’s a really great, lovable, easy-going guy,” Crowley said.
