Cheryl Scott of High Ridge submitted photos for her father, Jerry Tripp, who served in the Army in 1951 and 1952. Mr. Tripp, 92, grew up in Cape Girardeau and lives now in High Ridge.
He was a sergeant in the 1st Cavalry, 45th Division, and saw action at the Battle of Old Baldy during the Korean War. He is a Bronze Star recipient.
Scott accompanied her father on a 2015 Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
“It was wonderful,” she said. “They got to go to the World War II Memorial, Arlington,National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall, the Korean War Memorial, the Iwo Jima monument and the Air Force Monument. They did all that in a single day.”
