Seckman High School student Zach Reed, who will be a junior next school year, created a logo that the C-6 Educational Foundation will use for its annual 5K fundraiser.
Reed designed the new Fox Trot logo last school year in Jessica Fisk’s Graphic Design 1 class. Seckman High principal Todd Scott, who’s the president of the foundation, asked students in that class to design logos for the 5K, and the foundation members chose Reed’s logo from among several submissions.
The foundation has changed the name of its annual fundraiser to the Fox Trot, which will be held, Saturday, Sept. 30, at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road off Jeffco Boulevard near the Meramec River.
The event includes a 5K and a 1-mile fun run/walk. Entry in the 5K is $25, and the cost to take part in the fun run/walk is $10. Proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation, which provides educational and welfare grants to benefit students throughout the Fox C-6 School District.
Those who register by Sept. 15 will get a shirt featuring the new logo that Reed designed. Entrants in the 5K will receive a dry-fit shirt, and 1-milers will get a cotton T-shirt.
Participants also will receive a goody bag, free water and snacks. The overall male and female winner each will receive a trophy and a $100 cash prize. The top three finishers in each category will receive a medal.
The event also will include a raffle and entertainment.
Fleet Feet will provide professional chip timing and online registration. To register online, go to http://www.fleetfeetstlouis.com/racing/highlighted-races/fox-trot.
