Roger Winkelmann recently was promoted from private to captain with the Rock Community Fire Protection District. His promotion was officially announced Monday (Oct. 23) at the district’s Board of Directors meeting.
Winkelmann has been with Rock Fire for 21 years, and he will earn $59,000 a year as a captain. He was making $53,000 as a private.
Winkelmann is replacing Capt. Todd Soong, who left Rock Fire after being with the district for 20 years, Chief Jeffrey Broombaugh said.
Rock Fire also announced the hiring of three new firefighters – Scott Argurieo, Michael Long and Aaron Flowers – during the Monday board meeting.
